Development Process

Before taking this subject i just knew a little about Photoshop and i used it in a very simple way to create what i need. But, after learning some Photoshop techniques i realized that i can do more and create innovative images.

In general i used selection tools like Magnetic Lasso, Magic wand and Quick selection tool to select and cut the parts that i want to use in my final image.
I used costume shape tool in first and last image to show the conversation or thought. In the second, third and last image i used blend effect to show the correct focus.
Also i used Type tool in the last image and Stamp tool in the first image to show many crows in the second part. Finally i worked with layers properties such as Transparent and Color.

My concept is Persian proverbs. I tried to choose the most popular proverbs that we use in our daily life. Now, let's take a look at these proverbs, their meaning and usage (If you click on the image, you will see the large size and if you click on caption you will see all original images.).

1. One crow and forty crows:
Persian: یک کلاغ  و چهل کلاغ
The first proverb that i choose literally translated to One crow and forty crows. It applies when a fact changes due to it being transferred through many rumors. As you can see in this image first, woman says that she saw one crow and then the man talks to his friends and says that she saw many crows.

2. The potter drinks water from a shard:
Persian: کوزه گر از کوزه شکسته آب میخوره
In this image you can see an old and professional potter who made many jugs but he uses a shard for his use. I am sure that you have seen a person who is a professional in a job but he does not or can not use his expertise in his life. For example, imagine a mechanic that his car does not work good or a well known doctor that he can not cure his child illness. Persians use this proverb when they see or hear a situation like this.

3. One bullet and two shooting target:
Persian: یک تیر و دو نشان
As you can see in this image, the archer wants to shoot two target with just one arrow. For example when you want to cook something new for dinner, at the same time that you learn something new, also you are preparing your dinner. In situations like this we use this proverb to show that we did two things in one action.

4. Many a little makes a Mickle:
Persian: قطره قطره جمع گردد وانگی دریا شود
In this image you can see that there are many coins under the water and a water drop that contains a coin is coming down. The literal translation of this proverb is: Many drops make a flood. We believe that if somebody wants to be a rich man must try many years and saves money little by little or if someone wants to be famous he has to work hard for years and it is not possible that you will be a rich man in one night.

5. Water is in the jug, yet we are wondering around with parched lips:
Persian: آب در کوزه و ما تشنه لبان میگردیم
The title of this image is it's literal translation. I just made it in a modern way. As you can see in this image, sometimes we have something that we need, but we do not know that we have it or we do not try to search for it. In this image the woman wants to drink water and she has water in refrigerator but she does not know. Imagine a situation that you need a ruler for example, then you start to ask others for that instead of searching in your tools first.
